Janette Nelson Greene

Janette Nelson Greene passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born April 5, 1939, in Foules, Louisiana to Leo Ithaniel Nelson and Mary Daisy Egloff Nelson. Janette graduated from Sicily Island High School in 1957. She met the love of her life, Albert S. Greene, Jr. and together they created a business, Acoustical Specialties & Supply, LLC and a loving and devoted family. Albert often mentioned it was Janette’s consistent support of him and their company, often as a silent partner working as the bookkeeper and any other position that needed to be filled, that made them so successful. Her commitment to her husband, their business, and especially their family were unwavering, always making everyone feel like they were her only priority.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son Albert Nelson Greene; her granddaughter Danielle Elizabeth Wright; and her siblings. Leo Nelson Jr., Loveless Nelson, Dorothy Stogner, Ada Lea Nelson and Janice Case.

Janette is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Albert S. Greene Jr.; their daughters, Robin Wright and her husband Richard and Donna Phillips and her husband Steve; their grandchildren, Rebekah Phillips Puryear and her husband Dustin, and Joel Phillips. She is also survived by their step-grandsons, Cooper and Luca Puryear; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Tami Tucker and the wonderful caregivers of Cast A Line Care LLC, for their around-the-clock care that allowed Janette and Albert to stay home together in their later years, and to the amazing staff and nurses at Hospice In His Care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Faith Mausoleum at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
