Gay Plauche

Gay Shirley Plauche, a native of Lisbon, AL and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 83. She graduated from Baton Rouge High School and was a longtime member of Jefferson Baptist Church. She was employed by The Baton Rouge Board of Realtors for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, working in her beautiful yard, LSU baseball, and reading. Her faith in Jesus was strong and was the foundation for how she lived her life and loved others. Her greatest joy was her family, and her heart was full when spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gay is survived by two daughters, Lisa Plauche Oubre, Laura Plauche Pritchard (Keith); son, James “Tony” Plauche (Shannon); seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Jasmine “Jazz”. Preceded in death by parents, Carl and Ann Shirley; husband of 56 years, Jerome Plauche; and brother, Terry Shirley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. The visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
