George Embaugh

George “Snookie” Embaugh passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the age of 86.  He was born January 30, 1938, in Rochester, Pennsylvania to Fredrick Filmore Embaugh and Mary Margaret Marshall Embaugh.  After graduating high school, George entered the workforce as a mechanic, where he helped countless families, friends, and customers, retiring after 47 years of dedication to his trade.  

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Len Ronald Embaugh.  George is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Shirley Anna Embaugh; their children Holly Ann Achord and husband John, David Fredrick Embaugh and wife Lynn, Mark Leonard Embaugh, and Fredrick Ronald “Fritz” Embaugh and wife Tia.  He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Todd Abbe, Veronica Ward, Amanda Clear, Rachel Vandyke, August Embaugh and Nina Embaugh; and great-grandchildren Maeve, Deklan, Dylan, Trinity, Kameron, Levi and Payton; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

 

George and Shirley are members of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  He loved to tinker – whether it was with auto repairs or woodworking, enjoyed hot rod cars, rounds of golf and a cold beer!

 

A private service was held for the family.   Inurnment will follow at our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Garden of Peace Memorial Columbarium.
