George Guidry

May 9, 1950 — September 12, 2021

Better known to family and friends as Alan, he was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He worked at Cos-Mar Chemical Plant in Carville, LA for 37 years, sold real estate on the side, enjoyed traveling, reading, and social gatherings. Alan died September 12, 2021 surrounded by his family.

The life of the party and the soul of the family. He never met a stranger. Through his charm and charisma, his sweetness, his love of family and friends, his wonderful quick wit, his happy, positive outlook on life, his dedication to working and providing for his family, and so many other great attributes, he made the world a better place.

Alan was born in Baton Rouge to Juanita Sutton Guidry and George Guidry on May 9, 1950. He was their cherished only child. He met and married his high school sweetheart Mary Hyatt and they share two sons, David Alan and Steven Todd. He later acquired a devoted stepdaughter, Alice Mondello Burke (and husband Lou), but he dropped the step and called her his daughter. He is also survived by his two grandsons, David Zane and Mason Alexander (and fiancé Molly), his five granddaughters, Chloe Alise (and fiancé Coty), Mary Alyson, Aubree Rose, Katie Marie, and Hailey Elise. He was also delighted by two great grandchildren, Mikey Alexander and Gwendolyn Rose and unofficially adopted daughter and son, Nikki and Jalyn Davis and their children Jordan, Jalyn, and Taryn.

Honorary pallbearers: Bobby Carter, Melvin Baker, Lindsey Bullock, Jalyn Davis, Paul Parker, Lee Roy Koon, Rusty Allement, Don ‘Snoopy’ Atkinson, Dennis Parrino, and David Ammons. Heavenly pallbearer: Brent Deaville.
