George "Mike" Michael Mayeux

George Michael Mayeux, lovingly known as Mike, passed away on Thursday, July, 30, 2026, at the age of 69. Mike was born on November 16, 1956, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, son of the late Joseph Lamar and Vera Gremillion Mayeux. A devout member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Freemasons, Mike lived life as a free spirit. He cherished the moments spent with friends and family, filling his days with laughter and love. Mike always had a love for flying, even taking helicopter lessons and nearly earning a private pilot's license.

Mike is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Mayeux; his parents, Joseph and Vera Mayeux; and brothers, Joey Mayeux and Ray Mayeux.

He is survived by his step-son, Daniel Stroud; brother, David Mayeux (Judy); nieces and nephews, Allyson Mayeux, Robyn Mayeux, Crystal Tingle (Kevin), and Ragen Mayeux (Jill); great nieces and nephews, Brice, Chase, Carson, Riley, Sydney, and McKenzie; and his beloved dog, Dusty.

The family would like to express our sincerest gratitude to The Carpenter House at St. Joseph Hospice for the compassionate care and support during this time.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, in Baton Rouge, on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4826 Main St, in Zachary, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. A graveside ceremony will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be, David, Steve, Ragen, Evan, Jason, and Grant.
