Gerald Mayeaux

Gerald Joseph Mayeaux, age 90, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on December 14, 2021. Gerald was from Simmesport, LA and attended Simmesport High School. He moved to Baton Rouge with his wife, Delores Mayeaux, shortly after they were married in 1955 and built M&M Tractor company by his early 20’s. He was a wonderful husband to his wife of 66 years and an incredible father to his 4 children. He will be remembered as a generous and kind man to all those that knew him or worked for him over the many years and will be greatly missed.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Delores Mayeaux; his children, Keith Mayeaux, Karen Mayeaux Hill, and Kenneth Mayeaux and spouse, Kristen; his grandchildren, Brandon Schexnayder and spouse, Rachel, Emory Mayeaux, Britton Mayeaux, and Danielle Mayeaux. On the day of his passing, his first 2 twin great-grandchildren, Marcellus Levi and Leonidas Joseph, were born to Brandon and Rachel.

He is preceded in death by his children, Kerry Mayeaux and baby Mayeaux who passed at birth; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Mayeaux; and his brothers, Alva Mayeaux, Harris Mayeaux, and Everett Mayeaux.

Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 12:00 PM until services at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
