Gertrude Greaves

Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Matthew 25:21. She slipped away on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, as gracefully as she lived her life. Born on July 30, 1908, she was 100. She was a loving mother to Dr. John P. Greaves Jr. and Susan Greaves Henderson; grandmother to Mary-Scott Henderson Tarver, Wendy Carroll Henderson, Heather Elaine Greaves and Wade Patrick Greaves; and great-grandmother to Faith Carroll Henderson, Amanda Kay Tarver and Michael Allen Tarver. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, John P. Greaves; her parents and two sisters. She was retired from the St. Mary Parish Clerk of Court's Office in Franklin, where she lived for 45 years. A memorial service in her memory will be held at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church on Perkins Road on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 9 a.m. She will be buried with her family in Natchez, Miss. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Louisiana or your favorite charity.
