Gilbert Roy Vincent, 87, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024. He was born in Youngsville, Louisiana, to Gilbert E. Vincent and Ida Verot Vincent. Gilbert spent most of his life as a plant manager at Allied Chemical. Outside of work, he enjoyed gardening, working on his lawn equipment, spending time with his family, and watching old western movies. His love for gardening was evident in his ability to grow almost anything in his fruit and vegetable gardens.
Gilbert is survived by his wife of 36 years, Alma Hope Hatcher Vincent; daughters, Denise Kifer (Karl), and Rhonda Moss (Terry); son, Rhea Vincent (Denise); step-sons, Buford Elliott (Sharon), and Randall Elliott (Charlotte); and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Robert Todd Elliott.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at The Carpenter House Hospice for their loving care of Gilbert.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
