Glenn G. Broussard

Glenn G. Broussard passed away on October 24, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 85. Glenn was born on March 12, 1940, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, to St. Elmo and Virgie Broussard.

Glenn graduated from Nicholls State University in 1963 with a degree in Physical Education and even earned the honor of becoming the first "Mr. Nicholls" in 1960 during his time there. He began his career in education and soon transitioned to a role at the Shell chemical plant, where he worked for two decades. Following his time in the industry, he returned to education and served as a high-school teacher until his retirement.

Glenn loved LSU sports, particularly football, watching old westerns, and he could often be found working in his shop. He loved good food, and, notably, a series of beloved dogs, all affectionately named Beaux.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Donna Broussard; children, Karen Erwin (Johnnie), Renee LeBlanc, and Marc Broussard (Sarah); sisters, Marilyn Gesser and Virgie Broussard; brother, Blair Broussard; grandchildren, Raven Landry, Lauryn LeBlanc, and Cecilia Broussard; great-grandchildren, Cooper Moran and McCoy McGibboney; step-daughters, Donita Thames Molony and Angela West Schoenefeld (Rob); and step-grandchildren, Scott Molony, Kelly Molony Morgan, Joshua West, and Anna West.

He was preceded in death by his parents, St. Elmo Broussard and Virgie Broussard, as well as his siblings, Kathy Daigle, Elmo Broussard Jr., and George Wayne Broussard, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 2085 St. Mary St., Thibodaux, LA 70301, from 10:00-11:00 AM, with Funeral Mass starting at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to a reception at the church hall following the mass.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Amedisys Hospice in both Knoxville, Tennessee, and in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for their help in this difficult time.
