Guerdon Marshall Kieren

Guerdon Marshall Kieren, a native of Miami, Arizona and a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the age of 90. He attended Miami High School and served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Juneau, Alaska and Biloxi, Mississippi.

Guerdon was an electrical engineer whose career began with Westinghouse in California and later brought him to Louisiana during Baton Rouge’s industrial expansion. His expertise and leadership soon carried him across the globe with Siemens, where he contributed to major projects worldwide. After retiring, he continued sharing his knowledge locally through consulting work with Southern Power Systems and TPS, remaining a trusted expert in his field throughout his career. To his family, he was a source of love, wisdom, support, and historical insight, always ready with a story, a lesson, or a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred Anne Hahn Kieren; sons, Guerdon “Butch” Kieren, Terry Joe Kieren, and Keith Lynn Kieren; parents, Leslie Francis Richard Kieren and Georgina Ina Kieren; his sister, Patsy Stamper; and grandson, James Kieren.

Guerdon is survived by his daughters, Leslie Kieren Mariano (Joe) and Michelle Pastorick (Kirk); grandchildren, Margaret Kieren Jouette (Jeremy), Christopher Kieren (Katrina), Jeremy Fenn, Dylan Pastorick (Jordan), Lillie Pastorick, Nikki Pizzalato (Andrew), Terry Joe “JoJo” Kieren, and Guerdon “Butch” Kieren; brother, George Kieren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge.  A Memorial Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
