Gwendolyn G. Vaughn

Gwendolyn Gale Vaughn passed away on December 11th, 2024 in Madison, Mississippi. Although Gwen was a resident of Madison at the time of her death, she is a native and former longtime resident of Baton Rouge, having taught at East Baton Rouge Parish Schools for 20 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Mina Vaughn Covington and husband Robert and Rachel Vaughn Speyerer and husband Lee, four granddaughters, Bryan, Alexis, and Colby Covington and Katherine Speyerer, her only sister Keithe Moore and her five nieces Erin Trainor, Regan Schucker, Tempe Crunk, Dianne Martin, Kathryn Artlip, and nephew Steve Vaughn. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Gwen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Bryan Vaughn, parents Billie and John "Buddy" Copponex and George Cannon. 

Funeral Services will be held Friday December 20th at 11 A.M. at Resthaven Chapel with visitation beginning at 10 A.M. Interment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or a favorite charity. The family would like to thank Cleveland Marchand for his companionship bringing joy to her life the past year and a half.
