Horace Thomas Goodroe, Jr. (Tommy), 72, of Greenwell Springs, passed away September 5, 2025, at his home.
He was born on January 29, 1953, to Horace and Joy Goodroe in Houma, Louisiana.
Tommy graduated from Louisiana State University in 1976. He also graduated from MTI College in 1989. He married Karen Metz on June 6, 1987, and they had two daughters, Amanda and Emily.
He worked as an IT Specialist and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield. Tommy enjoyed being T-Paw to his five grandsons who he adored.
He was a musician and loved playing his guitar and singing. Deeply devoted to his savior, Jesus, he loved serving and pouring into others, particularly through his ministry to those in prison.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Karen and daughters Amanda Schafer (Tanner) and Emily Morgan (Wesley). His sisters Ellen Clark and Joy Dupuy. And his five grandsons, Benjamin Morgan, Daniel Schafer, Oliver Morgan, Luke Schafer, and Patrick Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Thomas Goodroe Sr and Joy Naquin Goodroe.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 10 at 10:00am at Healing Place Church - Annex Building, 19202 Highland Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70809, followed by a memorial service at 11:00am.
