Jul 29, 1937 — Jun 15, 2026

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Jacqueline “Jackie” Fournet Daughtry peacefully passed away and entered Heaven on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on July 29, 1937, in St. Martinville, Louisiana. She attended St. Anthony Catholic School and graduated from Baton Rouge High School. After marrying her high-school sweetheart, Jimmy Daughtry, she devoted her life to creating a warm and welcoming home where they raised their five daughters, centered on faith and strong family values. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Jackie was known for her colorful hats, flashy outfits, and carefully chosen accessories. She was never afraid to stand out in a crowd. She loved a little sparkle, a little flair, and wasn't shy about making an entrance. Never meeting a stranger, Jackie filled every room with personality, spunk, and lively conversation. Friends and neighbors were always welcome for a home-cooked meal. Her love extended beyond her family to her beloved Cedarcrest family, where she built lasting friendships and touched countless lives. She will be remembered for her love of dance, vibrant spirit, devotion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and for always reminding everyone that she was the "glue" of the family. A devoted fan of LSU sports, the Chicago Cubs, and the New York Yankees, Jackie was a walking encyclopedia of sports statistics, trivia, and random facts. Whether it was a game of Trivial Pursuit or settling a friendly debate, she was everyone's first call.

Jackie is survived by her daughters, Dale Oufnac (Mike), Teddy Brumfield (Joey), Marcia Blanchard (Chuck), Beth Ellis (Chuck), and Tootie Lee (Ricky); sisters, Kathy Hains (Johnny) and Suzanne Sexton (Gray); brother, Marc Fournet (Karen); grandchildren, Chris Oufnac (Sheila), Amanda Thrasher (Zeb), Jennifer Oufnac, Victor Brumfield (Holly), Kendra Leger (Ryan), Madeline Gugich (George), Charles Blanchard (Hillary), Brooke Sabadie (Chad), Chase Ellis, Hunter Lee (Garret), and Hanna Naquin (Tyler); and great-grandchildren: Amalee, Lucy, Leela and Jenny Thrasher, Britton and Brady Brumfield, Ainsley and Clay Gugich, Grace Blanchard, Ellis, Brynn and Carsyn Sabadie, Christian, Anna-Kate, Emery and Layla Ellis, Harris Lee, Hayes and Kiki Naquin.

She is preceded in death by her cherished husband of 46 years, Jimmy Roy Daughtry; parents, Pearl and Walter Fournet, Jr.; brother, Walter Fournet, III; nephew, Michael Fournet; niece, Eileen Hains Lonergan; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James Daughtry and Rosalie Daughtry; and sister-in-law, Mary Whittle.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Lake Sherwood Village Community and Audubon Home Health, especially Jennifer, Jade, Gerri, and Ebony.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jackie’s life on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane in Baton Rouge, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Eddie Martin, a cherished member of the Cedarcrest family. Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to gather at the Church Activity Center. The family requests that attendees honor Jackie by wearing bright and uplifting colors. A private family burial will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
