James Joseph Blouin

James “Jim” Blouin, a native of Gonzales, LA, passed away in Baton Rouge, LA, on November 15, 2025, at the age of 90. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired Air Traffic Controller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fellman and Mattie (Gautreau) Blouin. Jim was the oldest of seven children and is survived by his sisters - Jo Ann O’Neal, Jewell Pourciau and Sister Paula Marie Blouin, SSND; and his brothers - Matthew “Buck” Blouin, Michael “Mike” Blouin and Paul Blouin.

Jim loved playing golf, and the first thing he did when he moved back to Baton Rouge in 1978, was to join Fairwood Country Club. Fairwood became his home away from home, and if he wasn’t at work or at home, that’s where he could be found. He loved to travel around the country, playing golf courses that many only dream about playing.

The only things he loved more than golf, were his four daughters - Kelly Blouin Frank, Elizabeth “Lizz” Blouin Street, Tracy Blouin Urdiales and Jamie Blouin Calloway. They were the light of his life, and in his later years, he told anyone who would listen about them. His girls will miss him terribly, but they know that he is in a much better place - pain free and rejoicing with Jesus and his parents.

Jim also leaves behind six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and his sons-in-law.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy in Baton Rouge, on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and again at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Dr. in Baton Rouge, on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons.
