Jean Dunn

A homemaker and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 1:49 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 88, a former longtime resident of Lexington, Miss., and a native of Burrville, Utah. Memorial visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 8 a.m. until memorial service at 9 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Fred Wideman. Interment will be at a later date. She is survived by two daughters, Marcella Strong and husband William, of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Celia Butcher and husband Terry; a brother, Lyal Burr and wife Wanna Lu, of Burrville; four grandchildren, Leigh Anne Mellen and husband Philip, Ben Strong and wife Anna, Sarah Bryan and husband Lance, and Marian Kraemer and husband Ryan; and four great-grandchildren, Lucy Mellen, Will Mellen, Caroline Strong and Jack Bryan. Preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dunn; and parents, Wilford and Mabel Burr. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
