Jeffrey (Jeff) P. Porter passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 11, 2024, at the age of 73. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie D. Hudnall; his children, Melissa (Rich) Vura, B.J. (Katie) Porter, and Holly H. Grace; his 8 grandchildren, Jordan (Chris), Morgan (Jonathan), Gyanni, Gatlyn, Gage, Gabby, Ellie, and Gemma; and special friends Brian Shipp and Hayes Boone. He is predeceased by his parents; his brother, Mike; and his son Greg.

Jeff was elected and served as County Clerk of Midland County, Michigan for 20 years.  He served as Executive Director of La. Pest Management Association for 20 years.  He volunteered much of his time with the Jaycees, IACREOT and coaching his kids’ sports teams.  He loved refereeing football, basketball, and baseball.   He was an avid sports lover and especially loved LSU sports which he and Debbie enjoyed together.  His biggest passion was watching his kids and grandkids play sports and dance.  His greatest blessings called him “Bumpa”.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Gathering on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 1PM to 3PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. in Baton Rouge.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
