Jennie Reed

A resident of Baton Rouge, she died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Lakewood Quarters. She was 72 and a native of Greenbrier, Ark. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home chapel, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra and Mark Kowalski, of Baton Rouge, and Janet Mueller, of Tampa, Fla.; a son, Steve Reed, of Leesburg, Va.; three sisters, Geraldine Gerri Sanders, Glenda Heaslet and Mattie Duncan; four brothers, Sherrill Shelby, Dwight, Carroll Gene and Doyle Burkett; and five grandchildren, Michelle and Ross Kowalski and Stephanie, Christopher and Warren Reed. Preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Reed; and parents, Thurman and Bessie Burkett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jefferson United Methodist Church Building Fund.
