A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Orleans, she died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Regency Village Nursing Home in Webster, Texas. She was 74. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:30am until services at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Deacon Brent Duplessis. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna H. and Charlie Pounds, of Alvin, Texas, and Brenda H. and Rex Egerton, of Baton Rouge; stepdaughter, Kathleen H. Sturgeon and husband Tim, of Carson City, Nev.; two sons, Steven M. Harris, Mandeville, and Richard P. and wife Cheri Harris, Baton Rouge; stepson, John R. Harris II and wife Madge, of Ponchatoula; sister, Louise F. Labadot and husband B.J., of Mesquite, Texas; eight grandchildren, Trevor Pounds, Christopher Pounds, John Pounds, Jennifer Egerton, Kristin Egerton, Bradley Harris and wife Amanda, Brian Harris and Brandon Harris; several stepgrandchildren; two great grand-children, Gage Thibodaux and Connor Harris; and several stepgreat-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, John Rushee Harris; and parents, John Henry and Louise Savarese Fischer. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. She was a former state president, soloist and secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
