Joann Wilkinson

A retired school secretary for the East Baton Rouge Parish school system and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008. She was 67 and a native of Dry Prong. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, July 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Friday, July 25, from 9:30 a.m. until service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Carl Wells. Survived by her husband, Jerry Wilkinson; two daughters, Elizabeth Bateman and husband David and Lori Schmolke; stepdaughter, Stacey Wilkinson; son, John Fred Nesselhuf; two stepsons, Bret Wilkinson and Jay Wilkinson and wife Ana; two brothers, William and Robert Harrison; and eight grandchildren, Lauren Skye and Robert Connor Schmolke, Blake, Faith, Mikel, Yvette, Katie and Jerson. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank B. and Leora Harrison; and a brother, Gary Harrison. She loved gardening. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice.
