John “Johnny” “JY” Owen Yarbrough, Jr., a native and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana went to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the age of 80. He was a graduate of Istrouma High School and Louisiana State University. He worked and retired from Gulf States Utilities/Entergy. He also retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office after over 45 years of committed service.
He is survived by his daughters, Janell Pellichino and her husband Rex and Laurie Malone and her husband Patrick; grandchildren, Justin Pellichino and his wife Kailey, Brandon Pellichino and his fiancée Kindra Kowaleski, Caitlin Malone and her fiancé Griffin Fetters , Ryan Malone, and Megan Pellichino; great-grandchildren, Kannon Pellichino and Kaelin Pellichino; brother, Ronnie Yarbrough and his wife Bonnie; two nieces, Traci Yarbrough and Rhonda Benoit and her husband Daniel; and other members of his much loved family, Jan and Kirk Summers, Les Summers, Jessi Moyed and her family, and Owen Dettman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John “Tap” Owen Yarbrough, Sr. and Madeline Walker Yarbrough.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until Funeral Service are held at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Healing Place Church "Parking Lot Fund."
