Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Joseph F. Landry, III, lovingly known to family and friends as Joe, JoJo, and Joey, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on November 22, 1965, Joe was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Joe was a proud graduate of St. Agnes Catholic School in Baton Rouge. He worked for many years as a Traffic Control Officer and Dispatcher at Louisiana State University.

Joe loved his family and friends. He found joy in spending time with those he loved, helping others, and making people smile. He enjoyed staying informed about current events, loved playing the lottery, and had a special place in his heart for animals - never passing up the chance to feed stray animals or the neighborhood squirrels. Joe will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and the love he shared with everyone who knew him.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Lydia Grace Landry and Joseph F. Landry, Jr.; and by his beloved niece, Nicole Danielle Helms.

Joe is survived by his five siblings, Lisa Landry Helms and her husband Kenneth, Vivian Landry, Stephanie Landry, Rebecca Landry Nieman and her husband Michael, and Christopher Landry.

He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.

Joseph would like to give special thanks to his “angel” Tara Brown, and his dear friends, Todd, Rodney, Arlin, Duane, Whitney, and Mr. Tommy.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to St. Joseph Hospice and the Carpenter House for the compassionate care and support they provided Joe and our family during his final days. A special thank you to his dedicated care team – Anne, Sunny, and Sue – for their kindness, comfort, and unwavering compassion. Your care brought peace and dignity during a difficult time, and it will never be forgotten.
