Joseph Thomas

On June 17th 2018, the Lord called Joseph "Joe" Thomas age 81 to his eternal home in heaven. He was a loving husband and a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Joe was born in Tylertown, Ms, born June 17, 1937, and resided in Walker La. He was a longtime member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Denham Springs La. where he served as a deacon. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran and was retired from Local 53.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Thomas; his children, Bart and Myra Thomas, Tammy and Bret Courtney, Beverly and Jack Henderson and Linda and Billy Powell; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, George and Thelma Thomas; and brothers, John and George Clinton Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 5:00pm until 8:30pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Resthaven from 10:00am until funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
