Born in Plaquemine, Louisiana, on August 3, 1941, Judy grew up with a deep appreciation for family, faith, and music. She graduated from St. John High School in Plaquemine, Louisiana in 1959, and continued her education at Spencer’s Business College. Judy began her professional career with Dow Chemical and later worked for Exxon, ending her career at Cabela’s, where her warm personality and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.

Music was truly woven into the fabric of Judy’s life. As a young woman, she performed in a family band and learned to play both the piano and the organ. Her love for music remained constant throughout her life. She shared her talents as the organist for St. Anne Catholic Church in Plaquemine, Louisiana, and later lifted her voice in the choir at St. Mark Catholic Church in Prairieville, where she offered her musical gifts in service to her faith community.

Judy and her husband, Henry, shared many joyful adventures throughout their life together. They especially loved RV camping with the Cruisin’ Cajuns, dancing, and taking trips to the casino—simple pleasures that brought them laughter, companionship, and cherished memories.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Henry Lasseigne; her children, Robert Lasseigne (Kim) and Jeffery Lasseigne (former daughter in law Laura); and her grandchildren, Austin Lasseigne (Maggie), Landon Lasseigne (Stevie LeJeune), Grace Lasseigne, Hope Forbes (Fox), TeJay Butters (Tori), and Derek Butters (Chasity Smith). She is also survived by her great‑grandchildren, including Jane Lasseigne, Emmett Butters, Ella Butters, Breelie Smith, Beaux Dillon Butters, and Meredith Butters.

She leaves behind her siblings, Betty Ann Legendre (Ronald), Kathleen Stockman, and John Wayne Businelle (Margaret); and numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Theresa Daigle Businelle; her brothers, Thomas Marvin Businelle and Richard “Rigby” Businelle; her in laws Donald Stockman and Brenda Blanchard Businelle, and her great‑grandson, Bently Butters.

Judy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to others through music. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
