Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Jones

Kathleen (Kathy) Jones was born on January 30th, 1964 In New Orleans, LA.  Her family relocated to Baton Rouge, La, when she was very young, and she resided in Baton Rouge for the remainder of her life.   She was an artist, and most of her family is proud to display her art in their home.  Her professional career was in banking, and her last position was as a Manager at First Horizon Bank.  She loved to travel and spent her last few years touring with family fulfilling several bucket list trips. 

Kathy loved her family, and days before she passed away, she gathered everyone together and thanked them for taking care of her. She was a big football fan, and she timed it perfectly so that they caught the opening Saints game of the season.  

She is survived by her parents, Libby and Riley Jones; her brother, Will Jones; her sisters, Laurie Kinchen and Lynda Sluder; her children, Sara and Christopher Jones; and a grandson Thomas Blackard.   

Kathy spent the last 23 months battling cancer with dignity and grace. She is a shining, courageous example to live a life we love daily, despite the obstacles we face. 

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 6PM to 8PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, 16166 S. Harrells Ferry Road, Baton Rouge, LA from 9AM until Mass at 10AM. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
