Katrina Rowan

December 27, 1961 — January 17, 2021

Katrina Durst Rowan, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, January 17, 2021 after a final courageous fight against cancer.

Katrina’s personality made her stand out. She  showed  dedication and genuine concern for those around her, friends, family, coworkers, and even strangers. People who knew her would describe her as intense, hard working, loving, generous, kind, and selfless. Her entire life revolved around what she could do for others to make them happy and make sure they were well taken care of. This made her a phenomenal wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed, for her open heart, caring attitude, amazing cooking, and her ability to make everyone feel included.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Rowan; daughter and son-in-law, Jami and Johnny Orgeron; grandchildren, Ellenore, Rowen, and Warner Orgeron; mother and step-father, Fay and Doug Misner; sisters, Sharon Higginbotham and husband Jack and Cindy Woodward and husband Max; nieces, Kelli Fountain and husband Conrad and Jacklyn Higginbotham; great-nephew and niece, Andrew and Sydney Fountain; and chosen sisters, Dannielle Wascom and Staci "Cuz" Warner .

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Jon Short; and father, Jon Franklin Durst.

A visitation celebrating Katrina’s life will take place at the chapel at Lamar Dixon on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Please attend in cheerful attire as this is a celebration of a life well lived.
