Kennis Smith, Jr.

A retired armored car driver for Loomis Corp., he died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009, at his home in Central. He was 60, a native of Baton Rouge and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. until service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Chad Gilbert. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Peggy Lambert Smith; two sons, Shea R. Smith, Baton Rouge, and Ryan S. Smith, New Orleans; and a sister, Joann Crum, Clinton. Preceded in death by his parents, Kennis Sr. and Zella Smith. He attended LSU.
