Kim D. Bowyer

Kim David Bowyer of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2024.

Born June 12, 1958, in El Dorado, Kansas, to Jack and Vesta Bowyer, he was raised in Neosho, Missouri.

Kim graduated from Neosho High School in 1976.   He graduated from Crowder College, Rhema Bible Training Center, and Thomas Edison University.

Kim's love story with Maureen was one for the ages. They tied the knot on February 26, 1983, and their love blossomed into a beautiful family with the arrival of their two children. The depth of their love is a testament to the strength of their bond and, most importantly, to Jesus Christ.

Maureen is his “Reenie.”

Their children are Kendra Bowyer of Napa, California, and Kourtney Pleasant, of New Orleans, Louisiana, who is married to Josh, a young man Kim considers his son.

Kim has three grandchildren, Liam, Mason, and Georgia-Grey.

Kim's passion was his relationship with Jesus Christ. He served faithfully as a foreign missionary and, together with Maureen, has ministered worldwide.

He was a terrific son, brother, husband, father, employee, and colleague; his favorite title was Grandpa.

Kim was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Robert W. Carpenter, Sr.

Kim and Maureen are faithful members of Christ Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Visitation is scheduled for April 23, 2024, from 6-8 PM at the church located at 8025 Antioch Road, Baton Rouge, LA.

The funeral service is scheduled at the church on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 11 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM.  Rev. Galen Sorey, Kim, and Maureen’s beloved Pastor and friend, will conduct the service.

The interment will be at Baton Rouge National Cemetery, 303 W Mt Pleasant Zachary Rd, Zachary, LA 70791.

A Celebration of Life meal and A Kim Bowyer-style PARTY will be served at the church at 6 PM after the funeral service.

Instead of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Gideons International, which would help spread God’s word worldwide.
