Kirby John Braud

Kirby J. Braud, age 84, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on October 4, 2023.

Kirby was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended Gonzales High School (Class of 1959) and Louisiana State University (Class of 1965). He proudly served in the United States Airforce as a Hungarian Linguist. He enjoyed a career as a Certified Public Accountant. Kirby was a man of strong faith and attended Manresa for 50 years. He also enjoyed golf, dancing, reading, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with his family.

Kirby is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Audrey Braud; his daughters, Danette Simon Davis (Jay), Melanie Braud Lala (Donnie), and Keely Braud (Michael Strzyzewski); his sisters, Carol Braud Mayeux (Terry), Diane Braud Marabella (Anthony, Jr.); his grandchildren, William Simon, Adam Simon, Justin Burkes (Em), and Sydney Thompson; his step-granddaughter, Penny Lala; and numerous nieces, nephews and loving family members.

He is preceded in death by his infant son and daughter, Darryl and Eileen; his parents, Hudgen and Ruth Bercegeay Braud; and his stepmother, Jessie L. Braud.

Visitation will be held at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 9am until a Funeral Mass at 11am.
