Krystal Matherne

Krystal Renee Matherne passed away on June 18, 2022, at her home in Pride, Louisiana. She was born on November 7, 1961 in Pensacola, Florida. When she was 19, she met her husband and moved to Louisiana until her death. She enjoyed fashion and interior design and had opened a small boutique in Denham Springs, but because of her illness was not able to spend much time doing what she loved. She enjoyed, most of all, her time with family who she cherished with all her heart.

Krystal is survived by her husband Don Matherne; daughters, Colleen Matherne and Erica Domercant and husband Jimmy; beautiful little grandson, Kai Domercant; brother Kevin Russo; sister Karla Russo; brother Lee Broussard; sister Karmen Russo; and her best friend, puppy Molly Matherne.

She was preceded in death by her son Michael Ashley Penton; brother Terry Russo; parents, Lee Russo and Diane Russo.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to American Cancer Society in Krystal Matherne’s name.

The family of Krystal Matherne wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Pinnacle Hospice whose staff was very loving and caring during her last days at home, and to all the doctors and nurses at OLOL Hospital, Baton Rouge General Hospital, and Mary Bird Perkins, and to family and friends who supported us throughout her illness with many prayers and unselfish help whenever we needed it.
