Larry Milton Wiesepape, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the age of 86. Larry was born on April 25, 1939, in Washington County, Texas, the son of the late Hebert and Ella Blase Wiesepape.
Larry earned his PhD in Wildlife Science from Texas A&M University and had a life-long interest in fisheries and waterfowl. He served our country in the Texas National Guard from 1956 to 1961 and was later called to serve in the United States Army during his senior year of college. He began his career in fresh and salt water fisheries in Galveston, Tx. After receiving his PHD he accepted a position with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality where he worked for 22 years before retiring. Throughout his life, Larry was faithful member of the Lutheran Church.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Hebert and Ella Wiesepape; and his brother, James Wiesepape (Dorothy Schulze Wiesepape). He is survived by his cherished wife of 58 years, Jean Wiesepape; his son, William Wiesepape (Nicole Stackhouse); his daughter, Regina Wiesepape; and his beloved granddaughter, Ashlyn Wiesepape.
The family would like to invite all who knew and loved Larry to join them at a memorial service which will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2021 Tara Blvd, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on December 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM with light luncheon to follow.
