Leah B. Buller

September 27, 1945 — June 12, 2025

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Leah Theresa Baron Buller passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born in upstate New York on September 27, 1945, to Howard Morris Baron and Laverne Porter Baron. Upon graduation from high school, she joined the United States Army and proudly served our country until being honorably discharged in 1968. Her career spanned multiple administrative responsibilities, including bankruptcy court and the medical field.

It was a chance meeting in their apartment complex off Government Street that brought her to the love of her life, Donald. To this union came their two daughters, and over 56 years of wedded bliss.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Donald Wayne Buller; and her brother, Bruce Porter Baron.

Leah is survived by her devoted daughters, Tonya Buller Polozola and husband Gordon, and Faith Buller Francise and husband Jeremy; and her beloved grandchildren Evan Wayne Polozola, Sophia Caroline Polozola, and Emily Grace Francise; as well as numerous other loving family and countless friends.

The family would like to acknowledge Robert and Charlotte Ardoin, LJ and Nancy Aguillard, and her longtime caregiver with Griswold Home Care, Mrs. Gwendolyn Martin, for their unwavering friendship, compassion and care.

Leah’s whole world was her family. Her unwavering love for Donald was evident to anyone that knew them as a couple. She reveled in time spent with her children and grandchildren – and they were always welcomed home with one of her famous meals! Leah enjoyed traveling, including trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Navarre Beach, Florida. She was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. Leah will be remembered for always putting others before herself, her kindness and a personality that had everyone she met become her friend.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road in Baton Rouge. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m.
