Leopold "Leo" Laurent

December 21, 1934 — November 19, 2021

Leopold "Leo" Alphonsus Laurent, age 86, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his wife and sons. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Sylvia Laurent, 3 sons Michael Laurent (Karla), Darryl Laurent (Tricia), Rodney Laurent (Patty), 8 grandchildren - Rachel Laurent, Tonya Fullerton, Betsy Leblanc, Stephen Laurent, Angelle Nguyen, David Laurent, Patrick Laurent, Monique Laurent, and 5 great-grandchildren – Jayke Fullerton, Tess Fullerton, Jackson Galante, Max Galante, and Grayson Nguyen. He is preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Marguerite Laurent, brother Marshall Laurent, and sister Marguerite Foor.  Survived by sisters Geri Fennell, Naida Alatazin, and Nelda Coffee. Leo is a 1954 graduate of Istrouma High School, served in the United States Air Force, and retired from DSM/Copolymer as Maintenance Supervisor.  He was an active outdoorsman, golfer, and many years with ASA Men’s Fastpitch and Senior’s Slow-pitch. The family extends a very special thanks to Above and Beyond Sitter Service and Feliciana Home Health for their personal loving care. Pallbearers are Bobby Fennell, Chad Laurent, Jayson Fullerton, Stephen Laurent, David Laurent, Patrick Laurent, Jayke Fullerton, and Jackson Galante. Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Mass will take place the following day at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven.
