Lesa Boycher

June 19, 1958 — June 16, 2024

Pineville

Lesa Heath Boycher, 65, of Pineville, La, passed away on June 16, 2024, three days before her 66th birthday.

Lesa was born on June 19, 1958 to Frank and Lee Heath in Baton Rouge, La. Lesa graduated from Belaire High School in 1976, where she was a star catcher on the softball team. In 1977, she married her high school sweetheart, Billy Boycher, and started a family. Brandon was born in 1979 and Ashley in 1981. Lesa worked a variety of jobs throughout her life. She was a civil engineering drafter for the State of Louisiana, an administrator for an elder care facility, an office manager for a heating and air company, a mortgage lender, and an airport gate agent, among several other positions. However, her true life passion and favorite role was as a mother. Lesa always wanted to be a mom, and she devoted her life to her children, whom she loved fiercely and with enormous pride.

After Ashley and Brandon were grown and making their own ways in life, Lesa and Billy ended their long marriage, which created space for new love in Lesa’s life. She found that love with Donald Selby, a man who made Lesa feel complete and completely loved. Donald became the love of Lesa’s life. There have never been two people more committed and devoted than Lesa and Donald.

Donald passed away in December of 2014, and Lesa never truly recovered from losing him. Her grief stayed heavy and her heart stayed broken until the end. Her heart is at peace now.

Lesa is preceded in death by her father, Frank Heath; her mother, Lee Heath; and her husband, Donald Selby.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Brandon Boycher of Tioga; her daughter, Ashley Boycher of Mill Valley, Ca; her brother, Kerry Frey of Columbia, Md; her sisters, Cheryl Thompson (Mike) of Lafayette and Robbi Howard of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

A small and brief graveside service will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations in Lesa’s name be made to Hope House of Central Louisiana. https://cenlahopehouse.org
