Linda Dianne Gladney, a native of Turkey Creek, LA and a resident of Farmerville, LA, passed from this earthly life on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the age of 78.
Linda was a devoted member of the Baha’i Faith. She was a graduate of Lee High and later attended LSU, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education. She was a teacher, scholar, healer, famer, chef, baker, creator, inventor, nature-lover, explorer, adventurer, collector, singer, and dancer. Above all, Linda was the most loving mother and grandmother, who devoted her life to serving others.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Melva Mae Gladney; father, Levy Allen Johnson; adoptive father, Joseph A. Gladney; sister, Mary Louise Gladney; grandmother, Pearl McDaniel; grandfather, Leonard McDaniel; uncle, Roy McDaniel; and her beloved friend, Mrs. Ruby.
She is survived by her daughter, Pearl Ashraf; sons, Rahim Ashraf and Azim Ashraf; grandchildren, Shane Luke Ashraf, Navid Foad Ashraf, and Anisah Marlowe Ashraf; and her sister Karen Christine Gladney.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
The family would like to give special thanks to Jessica Ashraf, for her constant support while we cared for mom, and for holding us up when we needed strength.
