Lisa Tate

August 4, 1951 — April 24, 2022

Lisa Joi McLemore Tate, 71, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on April 24, 2022. Lisa was born in Cottonport and raised in Vidalia, La., but lived most of her life in Baton Rouge. She was an amazing mother to four children and numerous grandchildren. Lisa attended LSU and found a career working for ExxonMobil Refinery until her retirement. She was one of the first women to be employed by the company in the early 1970s. Lisa was a dedicated member of the Baton Rouge Bridge Club, a place where she felt at home in the company of many close friends. She was involved in many charitable activities, including volunteering to help seniors complete their taxes each year. Lisa enjoyed life and was an incredible cook, famous for her paper bag apple pie and cornbread dressing. She was deeply loved by her family.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Avrie Tate, her children David and Rachael Tate, Sherry Tate, Shannon and Kevin Messina, and Brian Michael Tate, her grandchildren Lila, Ruby, Charlotte, and Jakob Tate, Stephanie Daigle, Brynn Posey, and Chelsea Daigle, Arthur Messina and Ben Messina, her great-grandchildren Treytin Daigle, Quinten Daigle, Kyler Daigle, Isaiah LaLonde, Braylea Posey, Zane Posey, and Violet Messina. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack McLemore, Sr. and Bernice Bordelon McLemore, her siblings Jack McLemore, Jr. and Anne McLemore Robicheaux, and her grandson Alex Tate.

Visiting Hours will take place at St. Jean Vianney Church on Thursday, April 28 from 9:15 am until services at 11 am. Burial will take place at Resthaven on May 7 at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tunnels to Towers.
