Retired from National Hardware, he died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at 3:15 p.m. at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 68 and a native of Baton Rouge. He was a 1960 graduate of Redemptorist High School and a 1964 graduate of LSU. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Feb. 3, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home on Friday from 8 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Sam Maranto. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his aunt, Bea Bourdier and a host of cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Louis Felix Jr. and Catherine F. Romero. He was a very active member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church. A retired sales representative, he had been an involved volunteer at RHS and St. Gerard Majella Parish for more than 40 years. His parish activities included Mass usher, 30year host of a rosary group and fair booth chairman. He was a committee member of the RHS Chico Gonzales Memorial Golf Tournament and a top ticket salesman for the alumni associations 10,000 raffle. Memorial donations can be made to the Romero Family Scholarship Fund at Redemptorist High School.
