Louise Watson

September 11, 1924 — June 16, 2023

Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Louise Seal Watson, went to her Lord on Friday, June 16, 2023.  Born in Franklinton, Louisiana and a life-long resident of Baton Rouge, Louise was born on September 11, 1924, to Jesse M. Brumfield and Ida Smith Brumfield.  She was the seventh of ten children and the last surviving sibling in her family.  She was married to her first love, Ivy Edmond Seal, in 1945 until his death in 1990.  Together they had three children.  She married her second love, Clifford Muse Watson, in 1993 until his death in 2003.

Louise was a member of Lanier Baptist Church for many years where she taught children’s Sunday School and served as Mothers’ Day Out Director.  She had a great love for children and the mothers she served during those years.  In later years, she was an active member of Istrouma Baptist Church, where she loved her church family and especially her Bible study class.  She was passionate about her family, and considered everyone she met a friend.  She was a proud LSU Bengal Belle.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeanie LeBlanc (Bill) and Brenda Russell (Tommy) and son, Edmond Seal; grandchildren, Lee Russell (Monica), Cynthia Russell Segal (Jonathan), Elizabeth Hess (Darren), Kelly Bordelon (Ron), Bo LeBlanc, and Hunter LeBlanc; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Chloe and Ivy Russell, Harris and Beckett Segal, Hamlin, Archie, Beau Henry and Adaire Hess and Beckham and Berkley Bordelon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ida Brumfield; husbands, Ivy Seal and Clifford Watson; grandson, Colson Seal; sisters, Jessie Lee Andrews, Edie Marie Toney, Laura Alford, and Marcelle Crowe, and brothers, Albert, Victor, Glindon, Wilkie and Infant brother Brumfield.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Dr. Wayne Barnes.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
