Loyce Mae Martin Morrow was born to William Elias Martin and Virginia Whatley Martin in Mora, Louisiana on December 15, 1924, and she passed away on February 24, 2026, in Baton Rouge. She graduated from Simpson High School and soon began her career at Fort Polk. After World War II, she married Carl Francis Morrow on November 30, 1946. She and Carl raised three boys: Carl Glen, Ronald Lynn and Perry Francis. They lived in Leesville for most of their marriage. Loyce worked at Fort Polk for the Army as a budget analyst and supervisor. She retired in January of 1980. They were dedicated members of First Baptist Church of Leesville. Carl and Loyce moved to Baton Rouge in 2005. They lived in Lake Sherwood Village for two years before Carl’s death in 2018. They made many friends and celebrated their 70th anniversary there. Loyce lived with Perry and Ann Morrow for her remaining years and worshiped at Healing Place Church. Loyce was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She was a caregiver for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, a wonderful cook, an innkeeper for family who needed a place to stay, a strong voice of conviction and faith, a hard worker, and a loyal and dependable presence throughout her life. She was steadfast and firm in all her ways. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on her Leesville Wampus Cats, LSU Tigers any and every team her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren played for. She was a model of tenacity, passion, beauty and faith, an example of a life well lived in service to God and others. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Morrow; her parents; her siblings; and her granddaughter, Anna. She is survived by her son Carl Morrow and his wife, Brenda, her son Ron Morrow and his wife, Barbara, and her son Perry Morrow and his wife, Ann; ten grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The memorial service for Loyce Martin Morrow will be held at the Healing Place Church Annex, 19202 Highland Rd. at 3 p.m. on Friday, February, 27. The family would like to thank Jessie Jane Sovereign for loving and caring for Loyce. Also the family thanks Katie, Sonya, Bernice Twander of Audubon Hospice for their excellent care.
