Lucile Mai Stagg Yingling Holmes passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born in Rayne, Louisiana to Truman and Marie Stagg.
Lucile attended University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and worked as a teacher before marrying and starting her family. She was an active member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, tennis, playing bridge, and traveling around the world in her younger years. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving when she prepared a full meal to enjoy with her whole family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Lucile was a loyal and devoted New Orleans Saints fan. She cherished spending time with her friends at the Antioch Senior Center in her later years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie Holmes; and her sister, Fran Stagg.
Lucile is survived by her son, Craig Yingling (Laurie); her daughter, Chris Coulter (Jay); stepson, Dustin Holmes and her grandchildren, Kristopher Yingling (Sharanya); Averie Lajaunie, Stephen Coulter, and Lucy Coulter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 17510 Monitor Ave in Baton Rouge on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Drew Sutton. A Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
