Marvin Blocker, Jr.

A retired administrative assistant to the Baton Rouge police chief and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the Hospice Butterfly Wing of Baton Rouge General Medical CenterMid City. He was 77. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Gerald Wheeler. He is survived by his exwife, Shirley Demler a daughter, Tracy Blocker son, Wes Blocker brother, Gary W. Blocker four grandchildren, Garnet Pierce, Jonathan Magee, Trey Blocker and Kris Blocker and two greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Edith Blocker and son, David Lewis Blocker.
