Mary O. Breeden

Mary O. Breeden was born on June 25, 1947, and passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the age of 78.

Mary was born in New Roads, Louisiana. She attended business school and started her career at Manda Fine Meats. Mary then went to work for the Stateof Louisiana and finished her career at the LSUHSC School of Dentistry. Mary was a long-time member of St. George Catholic Church. She was a devoted grandmother and a good friend to many. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, going to the salon, and water aerobics.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Dawn Comesana (Ronald) and Wendy Michelle Breeden (Tim Burks); grandchildren, Conner (Leah Brazan), Ethan, and Owen Comesana; various nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Champ P. Breeden; parents, Charlie and Mary Ortis; brother, John Ortis; nephew, John Paul Ortis; and sister-in-law, Sadie Ortis; and sister-in-law, Tanis McCranie.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Mary’s life on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. All will be welcomed at 9:00 a.m. until funeral services begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
