Mary Smith

A resident of Baton Rouge, she died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at 5 p.m. at L'Allison Group Home. She was 79 and a native of Bordelonville. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Aug. 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at 10 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and David Huckabee, Kathy and Peter Staire and Laurie and Steve Burns; three sons, Lionel Smith, Randy Smith and wife Catherine, and Fred Smith; sister, Bessie Shaheen; brother, Milburn Baudin and wife Juliet; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Red Smith. She was a member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church. Special thanks to the staff at L'Allison Group Home and Hospice of Baton Rouge for the care they gave to her.
