Mary Louise Devillier Gainey, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the age of 89. Mary was born on November 25, 1936, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, daughter of the late J. Weston Devillier Sr. and Cecilia Thomassee Devillier. She graduated from St. Anthony High School and devoted her career to serving the Catholic Diocese for over 40 years at St. Anthony, Redemptorist and St. Jean Vianney parochial schools as a secretary and bookkeeper, where her warm spirit positively impacted many lives. Mary was an active member of the Catholic Daughters, the Red Hat Society, and Threads of Love, where her passion for community and fellowship shone through.
In her leisure time, she found joy in crocheting, knitting, reading, and sewing—often with melodies of her favorite artist playing in the background, Elvis Presley. However, nothing brought her greater happiness than the cherished moments spent with her beloved grandchildren in Houston.

Devillier Sr. .and sister-in-law Irene, and brother Frank P. Devillier.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia K. Lundgren, and her husband James P; son, Mark W. Gainey; grandchildren, Paige Lundgren Berta and her husband Matthew, and Weston B. Lundgren; sisters, Viola Devillier Lambert and Carolyn Devillier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
