Mary Hymel

A former secretary for State Farm Insurance and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 1:10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 68 and a native of Standing Rock, Ala. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 16, from 1 p.m. until religious service in the chapel at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Glen Miers. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband, Kerry J. Hymel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Gene Gregoire and Michelle and Pete Estave; a son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Teresa Hymel; a sister, Vicki Mitchell and husband Stacey; a brother, Stanley Strickland and wife Lilly; five grandchildren, Todd Gregoire, Cindi Gregoire, Ashley Estave, Austin Estave and Ashton Estave; and a great-grandchild, Scotty Thibodeaux. Preceded in death by her parents, Owen P. and Henrietta H. Strickland; and a brother, Roger Strickland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
