Mary Malone

The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fearPsalm 27:1 Mary King Malone, native of Pine Grove, LA and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away at the age of 87 on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Carpenter House after a brief illness. After graduating from Spencer Business College, she worked at Ethyl Corp until her marriage to Terrell Malone. She was a stay at home mom until her youngest daughter was ten. She then became one of the first women to work at the Baton Rouge Post Office. After retirement, she loved traveling with her husband, her family, and her close friends, Myrtle and Walter Eiermann. Most of all, she loved her family, friends, and her church family at Jefferson Baptist Church. Beth was a volunteer at JBCs Food Bank and actively contributed to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Throughout her life, she was an avid reader. She was an excellent cook, a spotless housekeeper, and loved to work in the yard.
She is survived by her three daughters, Terry Roccaforte, Norma Bourgeois and husband Warren, and Karen Miller and husband Alan eight grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren, Mary Guzzardo and husband Mike, Shelly Zabaneh and husband Julius, Chad Richard and wife Mechell, Scott Finnerty, Kami Roccaforte, Darryl Finnerty and wife Glynna, Beth Guillot, Alison Miller, Rudy Bourgeois, Doug Bourgeois and wife Anu eight greatgrandchildren and four step greatgrandchildren, Julius and Dillon Zabaneh, Connor Guillot, Lundy Finnerty, Joshua and David Almonte, Keller Richard, Deacon Finnerty and Blaise Mahaffey, Devin and Zo517 Bourgeois, and Anthony Dornier three sistersinlaw, Inez King, Velma King, and Doris King and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at BGRH Bluebonnet and St. Joseph Hospicethe Carpenter House for their compassionate care of their mother. Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 9:00 am until service time. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, conducted by Dr. Tommy French and Dr. David Goza. Interment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
