Mary Lillie Martinez, of Central, LA, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, May 27, 2024 at the age of 64.
She was known for her boundless generosity, infectious laughter, and unwavering support for those she loved. Her kindness touched the lives of many, and she always put others before herself. She was a beacon of love, strength, and compassion. Mary was known for her infectious smile and her zest for life, traits that endeared her to everyone she met. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aromas of her cooking, a passion she pursued with great joy. Mary loved trips to the beach, where she found peace, happiness and awesome sales. Her family and friends will remember her for her generosity, kindness, and the positive energy she brought into every room. Mary’s legacy will continue through the countless lives she touched.
Mary was the devoted wife of Raymond Martinez, her cherished partner for 46 years. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Ashley Valenti and her husband Jarad and Chase Martinez and his wife Brynn. She was a proud grandmother to six grandsons, Jaxon, Jhett, Aydan, Asher, Reid, and Cohen. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of life. Mary had a deep love for her family, including her brothers, Chris Lillie and his wife Debbie and Matt Lillie and his wife, Karen; brothers-in-law, Steve Martinez and his wife Kim and David Martinez and his wife Lisa, and sister-in-law Terrie Kent and husband Jim. She also cherished her many lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Her heart was filled with color and joy, the family requests that you be colorful for the service by wearing bright colors.
