Matthew Rink

Surrounded by his loving family, Matthew Allen Rink passed away peacefully on October 30, 2022, at the age of 61. Matt graduated from Tara High School and attended LSU. He was a well-respected mortgage loan banker for nearly 20 years. He dearly loved LSU, football, and life on the water. He had the talented ability to fix anything, due to the extensive time spent beside his hero, his dad, working on cars, boats, and anything that needed fixing. Matt was a gifted storyteller and would freely share his memories with his family anytime they would gather. He was a self-taught artist and guitarist.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Flo Rink, his sisters Tammy McDowell (Gordon), Karen Merritt (Kent), Katherine Landry (Louis), his brother Scott Rink (Heather), his lifelong love, Joni Muscarello Leggio, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Robert Rink, and sister Debbie Rink.

Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on November 4, 2022, from 5 – 6PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at 6PM. Flowers may be sent to Resthaven or a donation may be made in his honor to any cancer center.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Purvis, Alan Salter, John Tyler, Danny McGlynn, Robert Graham, and Sammy Monistere.
