Maurine Parker

Maurine Parker, 98, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on March 3, 2021.

Maurine was a native of Auburn, Mississippi, graduated from Auburn School, and attended Baton Rouge Vocational Technical. Maurine enjoyed gardening, sewing, and working in the family business with her husband, Thomas J. Parker, of 65 years. She was also a lifelong, faithful Methodist member of United Methodist Church, and very active with her church throughout her entire life.

Maurine is survived by her children, Warren Parker (Kay), Linda McDaniel (Brent), Paul Parker, and Judy Hammond (Steve). She is also survived by her sisters, Yvonne Bates, and Annie Leake, and her brother, Doyle Nunnery (MaryAnn); 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Parker; her son, Thomas B. Parker (Diane); her parents, Maggie Jordan and Robert Nunnery; her sisters, Doris Mock, and Imagene Orr; and her brothers, RH Nunnery, Harold Nunnery, and Malcolm Nunnery.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral home on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 9:00 AM until funeral services at 10:30 AM, officiated by Reverend Heather Sullivan. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory
