Melvin "Pete" Pitre, Sr.

Melvin Anthony “Pete” Pitre, Sr., age 80, a resident of Killian, LA., passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018.

Pete worked as an Asbestos Insulator through the Local 53 in New Orleans, LA.

Pete is survived by his 2 children, Kim Pitre Muse and husband Brian, and Melvin A. Pitre, Jr.; his grandchildren, Joshua Pitre and wife Jessica, Shaun Pitre and wife Celeste, and Austin Muse; and his 2 great-grandchildren, Lane Joanne Pitre and Cooper Pitre.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo-Ann Mertz Pitre; his parents, Camille Joseph Pitre and Dorothy Romero Pitre; his granddaughter, Erica Joann Pitre; and his brother, Calvin Joseph Pitre.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 10:00 am until a memorial service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
