Michael Buckels

Michael R. Buckels age 71, a resident of Walker, LA passed away on February 17, 2022.

Michael was a proud member of Local 198 for 43 years. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He loved to watch his grandson Luke play tournament baseball and enjoyed watching any and all sports. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them, especially his great-grandaughter Harper Kate.

He is survived by his two daughters, Tammy Buckels Wheat and husband, Heath and Tara Buckels Zeller and husband Sterling; the mother of his children and personal confidant, Ilene Buckels; his grandchildren, Madison Zeller Brown and husband Chad, Lauren Paige Wheat and Luke Shane Zeller; his great-granddaughter, Harper Kate Brown; his brother, Kevin Buckels and wife Beverly; his nieces, Angela Buckels Denham and husband Eddie, Kelli Buckels Lobello and husband Michal, and Ashli Buckels Morales and husband Chris; his six great-nephews, Presley, Gracin, Gabe, Logan, Austin, and Baylor; his great-niece Ava; his two special aunts, Emma Jean Roberts Seal and Udolie Roberts Williamson; and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer M. and Frances Roberts Buckels, and great-nephew, Ashton Lee Buckels.

Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 11:00 am until services at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Sterling Zeller, Heath Wheat, Chad Brown, Michal Lobello, Eddie Denham, Darryl Seal, Jeffrey Roberts and Pat Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Luke Zeller, Reggie Walker, Patrick Smith, Austin Morales, and Chris Morales.
